April 20

Very cold today. Marathon Monday...very exciting day.
Put kohlrabi in and then brussel sprouts. What happens with brussel sprouts when they come back the second year?
Planted window boxes of mini carrots and prepared for swiss chard.

Today's weather is cool and dry....highs in the upper 40's. Lots of people at Home Depot!

Tulips once again are spotty when they come up...They don't all flower. Very frustrating!

Went through seeds to get rid of the oldest....dating back many years! (1992!)

New seeds for this year!!

Black round Spanish round...ordered on line. Was looking for big, black radish just like in Israel. Let's see how big we can get this to grow!

I also looked hard for blue hubbard squash. The squash that we grew two years ago lasted 14 months before I cooked it and it was still moist and delicious.

Armenian cucumbers- It's funny, they came in a tiny plastic bag. The last time we grew this type of cucumber, it was through Shepherd's Garden Seeds. The plants produced long and beautiful cucumbers, although they took longer to ripen then other cucumbers. I am hoping that these will be as successful.

I ordered these seeds from Hirt's Garden at seedmart@cs.com. This was through doing a search at Amazon.com...They were fairly cheap. Other seed sites charged a great deal for the seeds. I don't know whether these are disease resistant or not. We'll see.
